Emimar is continuing construction works in the new building of the Latvian University in Torņakalns. The following scheme of waterproofing has been implemented in the inner yard: lu bauder 001 152x80
  • Vapor sealing. We used BAUDER VA4 4.0 mm (Germany) as vapor sealing barrierconsisting of aluminum foil between two layers of bitumen. The designers were challenged to prevent moisture vapor from getting into the heat insulation layer, so we selected a material with the best indicator of water vapor permeability sd=1500. In the first stage of construction and installation works, Bauder VA4 served as a temporary waterproofing layer allowing to perform a range of works and avoiding damage to the final waterproofing layer of PVC membrane Protan G 1,5.
  • Insulation. The insulation is made of two layers of XPS и EPS polystyrene foam.
  • Separating layer. Geotextile Bontec grade 200 g/m2.
  • Waterproofing layer. For waterproofing, we use PVC membranes PROTAN G 1,5. These non-reinforced membranes are designed for gravel ballasted roofs, green roofs, as well as pedestrian roofs with paving stones.
  • Protective and drainage layer. Protective sheeting BAUDER SV 300 – 300 g/m2 from recycled polyester fiber is widely used to protect polymer and bitumen waterproofing.
  • Drainage geomembrane. Water-absorbing and draining sheeting BAUDER DSE 20 made of high-density polyethylene. 20 mm high drainage cells allows to absorb a lot of moisture and distribute it uniformly over the entire drainage area (cells communicate with each other). Ease of installation and efficiency make this material one of the best in its class.
  • Host material. Power-tamped sand with a grain size of 3-5 mm.
  • Paving blocks.
  • Drainage channel. We used drainage channel by SITA (Germany). The ability to adjust the support legs allows allows to create big-length drainage systems.
  • Drainage funnel. A funnel by a German drainage roofing systems manufacturer SITA allows for the perfect vapor barrier. Most of cheap solutions disregard the problem of contiguity that over time causes damage to the entire roofing system in the area. The unit drawing is available in *.pdf => Section 1. => Section 2.
